BHUJ- The Pride of India

Bhuj-Ajay-Devgan-Cartoon

Movie Review

The perfect example of, BASED ON TRUE EVENT, BUT CONVERTED INTO A HOPELESS COMMERCIAL SCREENPLAY. The makers must have thought they would present the viewers with moments of pride. Unfortunately, Bhuj drastically fails as a WAR FILAM. The FILAM malfunctions in many ways, to leave you with the feeling of “Uff yeh kya bana diya!”. The songs, definitely feel out of the place.

Ajay Devgan is appreciated, beyond his skills. That is how our FILAM industry is! Talent and Luck- what works for whom depends on many factors. Lest we are going into this.

When you watch the FILAM, you feel the efforts that have been put into it to make it technically sound. But these efforts have somehow subsided the emotional quotient in the FILAM, which was the major requirement of the screenplay. It fails to raise the bars.

Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha are their usual self. Sharad Kelkar is good. Pawan Shankar better. Norah Fatehi a surprise. She has worked hard to go beyond her song and dance projections.

Watch it for one reason:- To know about this extraordinary event that took place in 1971, where a big group of village women showcased their love and duty for the Nation. Or if you’re an Ajay Devgan fan. For Me Bhuj is not a thumbs up.

Happy Independence Day!
