4 Lessons I learnt being a mother!

Madhav-Richa-Manas
  1. Children are a priority, but you are also important- Children do make an important part of my life. But my world does not revolve ‘only and only’ around them. Understanding and adjusting my children’s needs along with myself is what makes me a non- irritated mother. Yes, they are important, but so am I. I do not hesitate in making my children realize my individuality.
  1. Quality not Quantity- I believe in spending quality time with my children and do not focus on quantity. Being with them every second of the day is not something I vouch for. They have their own things to do and I do take pleasure in doing things that are important to me. But whenever I am with them, I make sure to talk about their lives, my life, and our lives collectively.
  1. My motherhood is mine- Every mother has her own style to raise her children. I did retain some of the good habits observing other mothers, especially in my initial days of motherhood. For me every woman is a good mom. Every woman has a different style of parenting her different and unique children. I respect yours, you respect mine.
  1. Am I strict?- Yes, I am. I have certain rules that children have to follow. I do scold them at times, but I make sure to give them the freedom they need while in the process of growing up.

Do I enjoy being a mom?? Well, that can be debated. I’m lucky to have Manas and Medhansh in my life as my children. But I do get agitated sometimes. Would I want my children to have children?? Still thinking!
